**Vijayapura, Karnataka –** Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, has accused the BJP of hypocrisy regarding its current agitation over the Waqf issue. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Patil highlighted that the BJP issued similar notices and made mutation entries in favor of the Waqf Board while in power, questioning their sudden opposition. He pointed to the BJP’s 2014 election manifesto, which included assurances supporting the Waqf Board, and a parliamentary question raised by Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje on the same issue. Patil further mocked the internal BJP conflict, noting that both State President B.Y. Vijayendra and former Central Minister Basanagouda Patil Yatnal are vying for credit related to the agitation. Regarding the Adani indictment in the U.S., Patil stated that legal action will be taken against those found guilty. He also expressed confidence in Congress’s prospects in upcoming elections in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Karnataka by-elections.
