Fri Nov 22 12:35:19 UTC 2024: ## CPI(M) Demands End to Outsourcing in Tamil Nadu, Criticizes Police and Central Government

**Dindigul, Tamil Nadu –** Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] State Secretary K. Balakrishnan has called on the Tamil Nadu government to immediately halt the outsourcing of government jobs, advocating for permanent employment instead. Speaking to the media in Dindigul on Friday, Balakrishnan described outsourcing as “anti-labour” and insecure for employees, asserting that it undermines the government’s responsibility and empowers outsourcing agencies. He urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to address this issue in the public interest.

Balakrishnan also criticized the police for their perceived ineffectiveness in combating the drug menace, demanding stricter enforcement to protect youth. He further commented on the proposed tungsten mining in Arittapatti, expressing concern despite the state government’s denial of any application. He criticized the central government for granting permission for mining in a biodiversity region.

Dismissing speculation about the DMK alliance’s stability, Balakrishnan stated that any confusion exists solely within the AIADMK. He demanded clarification from former AIADMK Minister Dindigul C. Srinivasan regarding alleged past election funding practices.

The CPI(M) leader condemned the US Department of Justice’s indictment of Gautam Adani, calling for immediate action against the accused. He also dismissed the BJP’s “one nation, one election” proposal as a diversionary tactic, confident in the opposition’s ability to defeat it. Balakrishnan’s statements were made during a two-day district-level CPI(M) conference in Dindigul.
