**Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh –** Vaditya Shankar Naik, a member of the Andhra Pradesh State Scheduled Tribes Commission, has pledged improvements to the living conditions of tribal communities in Sankavaram mandal, Kakinada district. Following a Friday inspection of villages including Avelthi, Anumarthi, and Ondregula, Mr. Naik noted significant deficiencies in road connectivity, medical facilities, and housing.

Mr. Naik interacted with members of the Konda Reddi (a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group), Konda Kammara, Manne Dora, and Konda Dora tribes, documenting their challenges and needs. He directed Revenue Department officials to propose the development of roads and the provision of house sites and houses for the tribal population.

In an official statement, Mr. Naik highlighted the communities’ struggles with poor road access and urged them to avoid early marriages, particularly for women. He further assured the provision of 150 days of work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and various social pensions to eligible individuals. The Commission’s intervention promises to address long-standing infrastructural and social issues facing these tribal groups.
