**NEW DELHI** – Xiaomi has launched the Redmi A4 5G, India’s first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. The budget-friendly device boasts impressive specifications for its price point, starting at just ₹8,499.
The Redmi A4 5G features a 6.88-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable to 1TB via microSD card. Camera capabilities include a 50MP main rear lens, a secondary rear lens, and a 5MP front-facing camera. Powering the device is a 5160mAh battery with 18W fast charging (though a 33W charger is included in the box). It runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14, promising two years of software updates and four years of security updates. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Redmi A4 5G will be available in Starry Black and Sparkle Purple. The 4GB+64GB variant is priced at ₹8,499, while the 4GB+128GB model costs ₹9,499. Sales begin November 27th on Amazon, Mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores.
