**Georgetown, Guyana/New Delhi –** Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a highly successful five-day, three-nation visit, returning to New Delhi Thursday. The tour, which included stops in Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana, marked several historic milestones.
His visit to Nigeria, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 17 years, saw bilateral talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a meeting with the Indian diaspora. PM Modi was also awarded Nigeria’s highest national honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
From Nigeria, PM Modi journeyed to Brazil for the G20 Summit, engaging with global leaders including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He held numerous bilateral meetings during the summit.
The final leg of the tour was a landmark visit to Guyana – the first by an Indian head of state in over 50 years. Here, he co-chaired the second India-CARICOM Summit with Caribbean leaders, strengthening ties between India and the Caribbean Community. PM Modi received Guyana’s highest award, the Order of Excellence, and addressed the Guyanese Parliament and the Indian community.
The Ministry of External Affairs described the Guyana visit as “very warm & productive,” signifying the success of the Prime Minister’s multi-nation diplomatic endeavor.
