Fri Nov 22 11:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Jordanville Man Sentenced to 32 Years-to-Life for Double Murder
**HERKIMER, NY** – Michael Andreev Jr. of Jordanville was sentenced to 32 years to life in prison Thursday for the 2021 murders of his father, Michael Andreev Sr., and younger sister, Sofia Trusova. Nine days into his trial on two counts of first-degree murder, Andreev pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder.
The details surrounding the killings remain unclear, though Herkimer County District Attorney Jeffrey Carpenter alluded to a possible motive stemming from a dispute over a soccer game. “There was an allegation that the father wouldn’t take him to go play soccer with his friends. That may have been enough,” Carpenter stated. He added that Andreev’s younger brother witnessed the stabbings and was able to escape.
Andreev received consecutive sentences of 15 years to life for his father’s murder and 17 years to life for his sister’s murder. When given the opportunity to address the court, Andreev simply responded, “No.” No victim impact statements were presented.
