**Kozhikode, November 21, 2024** – Veteran Malayalam film and television actor Meghanathan passed away at the age of 60 on Thursday morning at a private hospital in Kozhikode. He had been receiving treatment for respiratory issues. His funeral will take place today in Shoranur.

Meghanathan, son of renowned Malayalam actor Balan K Nair, began his acting career in 1983 with the film *Asthram*. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he appeared in over 50 Malayalam films, earning acclaim for his versatility. Some of his notable films include *Panchagni*, *Chamayam*, *Rajadhani*, and *Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum*. Despite a background in automobile engineering, he followed his passion for acting.

He is survived by his wife Susmitha, daughter Parvathi, and siblings Anil, Ajayakumar, Latha, and Sujatha. The family resides in Shoranur, Palakkad.
