**MUMBAI** – Suriya’s highly anticipated epic action film, *Kanguva*, experienced a significant drop in box office earnings on its seventh day, Wednesday. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film collected ₹2.40 crore (India Net), a considerable decrease from Tuesday’s ₹3.25 crore. While the film’s overall India Net collection stands at ₹62.4 crore, the slowdown raises questions about its long-term performance.

The film, boasting a massive ₹350 crore budget, had a strong initial run, achieving a worldwide gross of ₹93 crore (including ₹22.2 crore overseas) by Tuesday. However, Wednesday saw a 13.72% decrease in Tamil audience footfall, suggesting waning interest. While major cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Pondicherry, and Kochi maintained decent viewership, the film failed to resonate with Hindi-speaking audiences, with only a 9% occupancy on November 20th.

Directed by Siruthai Siva, *Kanguva* has received praise for Suriya’s performance. However, audience feedback has highlighted criticisms of the screenplay and overpowering background music. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, and Yogi Babu, was released in eight languages and showcased extensive filming across India and multiple international locations.
