Wed Nov 20 20:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Cold Front to Bring Chilly Temperatures to South Florida
**WEST PALM BEACH, FL –** South Florida residents should prepare for a significant temperature drop as a strong cold front sweeps through the region starting Wednesday. WPTV’s First Alert Weather team predicts increased humidity and scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout Wednesday afternoon and evening, with lows dipping into the mid-60s overnight.
Thursday will bring the full impact of the cold front, with cloudy skies clearing to breezy conditions in the afternoon. Highs will only reach the mid-70s, but the real chill will arrive at night, with lows plummeting into the low 50s – the first of three consecutive chilly nights.
This cool snap will continue into Friday, with breezy, cool conditions and highs in the low 70s. Friday night will be the coldest, with lows dropping into the 40s inland, feeling even colder due to breezy conditions. The weekend will see continued below-average temperatures in the 70s, with lows potentially reaching the 40s again Saturday and Sunday mornings.
A gradual warming trend is expected to begin Sunday afternoon, with temperatures returning to the 80s by Thanksgiving week, accompanied by ample sunshine. Morning lows will also rise back into the 60s.
The tropics remain quiet, with no development expected over the next seven days. The hurricane season officially ends on November 30th.
