**RANIPET, November 20, 2024** – A two-year-old girl, S. Krithika, died after being struck by a car in Thenkadapanthangal village near Walajah in Ranipet on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested the driver, S. Naveen Kumar, 26, who was reportedly on his way to work at the time of the incident.
According to police, Krithika was playing near her home when Kumar’s car ran over her around 9 a.m. Her parents, agricultural laborers K. Satish Kumar and S. Janani, rushed her to the Walajah Government Taluk Hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival.
A case has been registered against Kumar, who has been remanded to the Central Prison in Vellore. The investigation is ongoing.
