Wed Nov 20 23:47:00 UTC 2024: ## Rajasthan Unveils Ambitious Clean Energy Policy, Secures ₹6.57 Lakh Crore in Investments

**Jaipur, November 21, 2024** – Rajasthan is poised to become a clean energy powerhouse, announcing a new integrated policy designed to accelerate its transition to renewable sources. The policy, to be launched soon, will offer significant incentives for investment in renewable energy, including solar, wind, green hydrogen, pump storage, battery storage, and bio-energy.

This announcement follows a pre-summit event where the state government signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totaling ₹6.57 lakh crore with investors in the energy sector. These MoUs represent a diverse range of projects across various segments of renewable energy and power generation.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that the government aims to make Rajasthan an energy-surplus state, capable of meeting its own needs and supplying excess power to other regions. He highlighted the state’s existing advantages, including the world’s largest solar park (2,245 MW) and over 325 sunny days annually. The Chief Minister emphasized that the new policy will leverage these strengths to further boost renewable energy development.

The investments are projected to create approximately 70,000 new jobs in Rajasthan. The pre-summit, held ahead of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit-2024, drew participation from key figures including the Minister of State for Energy, Heeralal Nagar; the chairperson of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, Alok Gupta; and the Chief Secretary, Sudhansh Pant. Mr. Sharma concluded by highlighting Rajasthan’s immense potential in the solar and wind energy sectors.
