**PANAJI, GOA** – India’s public broadcaster, Prasar Bharati, launched its new over-the-top (OTT) platform, “Waves,” on Wednesday. The app offers a diverse range of content, including approximately 40 live channels from popular broadcasters such as B4U, ABZY, SAB Group, and 9X Media, alongside prominent news channels like India Today, News Nation, Republic, ABP News, News24, and NDTV India.
Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal emphasized the app’s focus on “clean and family entertainment.” Beyond live channels, Waves provides access to extensive archives from Doordarshan and Aakashvani, allowing users to revisit classic shows. Additional features include news updates, an integrated shopping facility through the ONDC network, games, and films. Sehgal highlighted the opportunity for viewers to “relive their childhood” by accessing their favorite programs from the archives. The app was unveiled at the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
