**TIRUNELVELI, November 21, 2024** – Tirunelveli district cyber wing police have launched an investigation into an online trading scam after a man reported losing ₹60 lakh. The victim, who filed a complaint on Thursday, was contacted through an online friends group. The scammer lured him into investing in a trading platform, promising returns of 5% to 20%. The victim transferred funds multiple times, receiving fake profit statements in return. He only realized he’d been defrauded when the promised payouts failed to materialize. Police have registered a case and are working to recover the stolen funds.
