**London, UK** – Golden Globe winner John Lithgow will return to the stage as Roald Dahl in the critically acclaimed play *Giant*, transferring to the West End after a successful run at the Royal Court Theatre. The production, directed by Nicholas Hytner, will have a limited 14-week engagement at the Harold Pinter Theatre, running from April 26th to August 2nd, 2025, with opening night on May 1st.
Lithgow will be joined by Olivier Award winner Elliot Levey, reprising his role as Tom Maschler. Further casting announcements are expected.
*Giant*, written by Mark Rosenblatt, delves into a pivotal moment in Dahl’s life in the summer of 1983, as his controversial antisemitic article continues to generate outrage. The play, inspired by true events, uses dark humor to examine the consequences of hateful rhetoric, presenting a complex portrait of the celebrated children’s author grappling with the fallout from his actions. The production features a talented creative team including set designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Anna Watson, and sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.
