**New Delhi:** British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar has unveiled a new logo, marking a significant shift as it prepares to become a fully electric car manufacturer by 2026. The 89-year-old company’s rebranding includes a redesigned logo – “JaGUar” – featuring upper and lower case lettering, and a redesigned “leaper” mascot crafted in brass. Accompanying the new visual identity are marketing slogans like “Delete Ordinary,” “Live Vivid,” and “Copy Nothing.”
The new logo has garnered global attention, including a playful jab from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who quipped on X (formerly Twitter), “Do you guys sell cars?” Jaguar responded by inviting Musk to the unveiling of its new electric vehicle during Miami Art Week on December 2nd, complete with an offer of tea.
Jaguar’s Managing Director, Roden Glover, explained that the company deliberately removed older models from the market to avoid confusion between the old and new brands. He emphasized the need for a complete rebranding to shift public perception and redefine Jaguar’s identity for the electric era.
Founded in 1922 as Swallow Sidecar Company by William Lyons, Jaguar established itself as a luxury car manufacturer with the launch of the SS Jaguar in 1935. Now, nearly nine decades later, the company embarks on a new chapter, aiming for complete electrification by 2026.
