**Bengaluru, November 21, 2024** – India’s steel industry is leading the charge towards sustainable manufacturing, aligning with global decarbonization efforts, according to Sajjan Jindal, president of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) and chairman of JSW Group. Jindal made the remarks at the 78th Annual Technical Meet (ATM) of the IIM, a three-day event inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
The conclave, organized by JSW Steel in collaboration with the Ministry of Steel and IIM chapters nationwide, brought together 1,700 delegates, including international experts in materials science and metallurgy. The event, themed “Transformational Technologies in Materials and Manufacturing,” focused on developing innovative solutions for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted Bengaluru’s role as a hub for technological and industrial advancement, making it a fitting location for the gathering of experts dedicated to shaping the future of metals and materials. The conclave also featured a technical exhibition showcasing cutting-edge innovations from 65 companies.
