**Washington, D.C. – November 21, 2024** – Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been arrested in the United States and is currently being held at the Pottawattamie County Jail in Iowa. This was confirmed by a recent update on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website.
Anmol is a fugitive wanted in India in connection with several high-profile crimes. These include the recent murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai and a shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s home earlier this year. He had previously claimed responsibility for the latter incident.
Indian authorities have requested Anmol’s extradition. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also offered a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest. An FIR was registered against Anmol and eight others in August 2022, accusing them of conspiracy to raise funds, recruit youth for terrorist acts, and carry out targeted killings.
While the U.S. State Department declined to comment on Anmol’s potential deportation, stating it falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, the arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the Bishnoi crime syndicate, allegedly headed by Lawrence Bishnoi from his prison cell in Ahmedabad. A lookout circular was issued for Anmol in April.
