**COIMBATORE, November 21, 2024** – Electricity Minister V. Senthil Balaji is set to launch the “Green Kovai” app, a new initiative aimed at boosting tree planting and maintenance in Coimbatore. The app will identify suitable locations for saplings, including open spaces and water body bunds, and allow users to track the progress and survival rate of planted trees. Currently, the app has already identified sites for approximately 70,000 palm saplings and 9,000 saplings of other species. The app is expected to streamline the process of afforestation and improve the success rate of tree planting projects in the city.
