Wed Nov 20 19:54:32 UTC 2024: **CBSE Denies 15% Syllabus Reduction for 2025 Board Exams**

NEW DELHI, Nov 15, 2024 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a statement refuting reports of a 15% syllabus reduction for its Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2025. These reports, circulating widely online and in some news outlets over the past few days, claimed the reduction would take effect for the February 2025 examinations.

A regional CBSE official, Vikas Kumar Agarwal, clarified the misinformation during the ‘Bridging the Gap’ school principals’ summit in Indore. He stated that the board had not issued any such notification and that no changes have been made to the assessment or examination procedures.

The CBSE further emphasized that all official announcements regarding board decisions will be published only on its official website, cbse.gov.in, or through authorized channels. The board reiterated that reports of a syllabus cut are unfounded and urged students and parents to rely solely on official sources for accurate information.

While the 2025 board exams are scheduled to commence on February 15th, 2025 (the same date as in 2024), the board also reminded students that a 75% attendance rate in school is mandatory for appearing in the exams. Rumors of a 40% internal assessment weightage were also addressed and dismissed as inaccurate by the CBSE.
