**Patna, [Date]:** The Bihar cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday approved several road projects across the state, totaling over ₹200 crore. The projects include the construction of new roads and the strengthening of existing ones in Chhapra, Patna, and Lakhisarai.

In Chhapra, the cabinet sanctioned ₹43.40 crore for the construction of a 1.40 km four-lane road from Chhapra Bypass to Chhapra Medical College and a 2 km two-lane east-west road.

A significant project involves the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) between Dumri Halt and Pothhi near Patna, at a cost of ₹109.22 crore. This ROB aims to alleviate traffic congestion at the railway crossing on the Patna-Gaya rail line.

Lakhisarai will see the strengthening of a 21.85 km road from Rampur (NH-80) to Shringi Rishi Dham, costing ₹44.91 crore. This includes stretches to Jalppa Sthan and Kyul railway station.

Additionally, the cabinet also approved smaller projects including the construction of RCC box culverts in Lakhisarai and Barhiya, totaling several crores of rupees.

Deputy Chief Minister and Road Construction Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha expressed his satisfaction with the approval, highlighting the positive impact these projects will have on the lives of the people. He also mentioned that four other projects are awaiting administrative approval. These projects, once completed, are expected to significantly improve infrastructure and connectivity in the state.
