**Chennai, November 21, 2024** – Actress Kasthuri was released from Puzhal prison in Chennai on Thursday evening after being granted conditional bail. She had been arrested in Hyderabad last week following a complaint alleging she defamed Telugu-speaking women in Tamil Nadu during a speech.
Initially remanded in custody until November 29th, Kasthuri was granted bail on Wednesday by a Metropolitan Magistrate. Her release conditions require her to report to the Egmore police station daily at 10 a.m. to sign the register.
