**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today announced its first batch of 11 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, expected early next year. The list includes a mix of fresh faces and experienced politicians, notably six defectors from the BJP and Congress.
Among the notable candidates are Brahma Singh Tanwar (Chhatarpur) and Anil Jha (Kiradi), both former BJP MLAs. Other prominent figures include BB Tyagi (Laxmi Nagar), a former BJP leader and two-time MCD councillor; and Deepak Singhla (Vishwas Nagar), a senior AAP leader. Sarita Singh, head of AAP’s student wing, will contest from Rohtas Nagar. Ram Singh Netaji (Badarpur) and Veer Singh Dhingan (Seemapuri) are former MLAs, the latter having previously represented Seemapuri three times for the Congress. Zubair Chaudhary, son of former Congress MLA Mateen Ahmed, will contest from Seelampur. Gaurav Sharma (Ghonda) and Manoj Tyagi (Karawal Nagar) also feature in the list, along with Somesh Shaukeen (Matiala), a former Congress MLA.
Interestingly, the AAP has withheld nominations for three sitting MLAs: Rituraj Jha (Kirari), Abdul Rahman (Seelampur), and Gulab Singh Yadav (Matiala). The party has not yet clarified whether these MLAs will be considered for other constituencies in future announcements.
