Thu Nov 21 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## BJP Loyalists in Karnataka Threaten Delhi Trip to Curb Dissidents’ Waqf Row Campaign
**Bengaluru, November 21, 2024** – A group of prominent BJP leaders in Karnataka, loyal to B.S. Yediyurappa and his son B.Y. Vijayendra, are planning a trip to Delhi to lobby against a parallel state-wide campaign by disgruntled party members. This campaign, focused on the alleged irregularities in the state’s waqf board, is being spearheaded by Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and others.
Seventeen former MLAs, including prominent figures like B.C. Patil and M.P. Renukacharya, met on Wednesday to strategize their response. They argue that Yatnal’s separate campaign undermines the party’s unified effort to highlight alleged Congress government corruption. Vijayendra has already established three teams to address the waqf row.
M.P. Renukacharya, speaking to reporters after a three-hour meeting, stated that the group is concerned about the negative impact of the dissidents’ actions and intends to apprise central party leadership of the situation. He emphasized that the meeting was not an act of factionalism, but rather an effort to protect the party’s image and unity. This marks the first organized response from Yediyurappa-Vijayendra loyalists to the dissenting faction’s activities.
