**Kozhikode, November 21, 2024:** Renowned Malayalam film actor Meghanaath passed away early Thursday morning at a private hospital in Kozhikode following a respiratory illness. He was 60. The funeral will be held at his residence in Vadanan Kurichy, Shornur, at 2 PM today.

Meghanaath, son of veteran actor Balan K. Nair, captivated audiences with his compelling portrayal of villains and character roles in nearly fifty films and television serials. His career spanned decades, beginning with his debut in P.N. Menon’s “Astram” in 1983. While known for his villainous roles, he also excelled in character parts, showcasing his versatility.

Beyond acting, Meghanaath was a passionate farmer. He is survived by his wife, Susmitha, and daughter, Parvathy. He received his primary education at the Asan Memorial Association in Chennai and held a diploma in Automobile Engineering from Coimbatore.

Some of his notable films include *Panchagni*, *Uyarangale Chamayam*, *Rajadhani*, *Bhoomigeetham*, *Chenkol*, *Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji*, *Praaikara Paappan*, *Udyanapalakam*, *Ee Puzhayum Kadannu*, *Ullasapppoongkaat*, *Rashtram*, *Kudamattam*, *Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum*, *Vastavam*, *Action Hero Biju*, and his final film, *Kooman*, released in 2022.
