**Shornur, November 21, 2024:** Veteran Malayalam actor Meghnadan passed away this morning at a private hospital in Kozhikode after a two-week illness related to respiratory issues. He was 61. His body was laid to rest at 3:30 PM today at his ancestral home in Shornur, near the memorial of his father, renowned actor Balan K. Nair.

Meghnadan, son of the legendary Balan K. Nair, was known for his compelling portrayal of villainous and character roles in over 50 films and television serials. He began his acting career in 1983 with the film “Astram.” His notable works include “Panchagni,” “Uyarangazhil Chamayam,” “Rajadhani,” and “Action Hero Biju.” His final film, “Kooman,” was released in 2022.

Prominent figures from the film and cultural spheres paid their last respects, including former minister A.K. Balan, MLAs P. Mammikkutty and Muhammed Muhsin, and actors Siju Wilson, Kottayam Nazeer, and Seema G. Nair. A large number of fans also gathered to bid farewell.

Meghnadan, born in Thiruvananthapuram, received his primary education in Chennai and held a diploma in Automobile Engineering from Coimbatore. Beyond acting, he was also a passionate farmer. He is survived by his wife Susmitha and daughter Parvathy.
