Thu Nov 21 01:23:46 UTC 2024: ## BJP District President Refrains from Voting Amidst Double Voting Allegations

**Palakkad:** K.M. Haridas, BJP district president facing allegations of double voting, chose not to cast his vote today. Haridas, who was scheduled to vote at the Sultanpet GLPS school, faced potential objection from UDF polling agents who had informed that they would challenge his vote due to alleged double registration in Palakkad and Pattambi.

Haridas had admitted to having voter IDs in both Palakkad and Pattambi, claiming he shifted his vote to Palakkad three years ago after establishing residency there. He attributed any potential irregularities in removing his Pattambi registration to the Election Commission. While he had initially indicated he would vote later in the day, he ultimately did not cast his ballot.

UDF workers, while stating they would not prevent Haridas from voting, confirmed they would challenge the validity of his vote if cast. Palakkad MP V.K. Sreekantan was present near the polling station.
