Wed Nov 20 17:14:54 UTC 2024: ## CBSE Reduces Class 10, 12 Syllabus by 15%, Changes Exam Pattern

**New Delhi:** The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a significant reduction of 15% in the syllabus for classes 10 and 12. This change is accompanied by a revised examination pattern, allocating 40% of the final grade to internal assessment and the remaining 60% to the final written examination. The board aims to alleviate student pressure and encourage deeper understanding of the subjects.

This syllabus reduction aligns with the board’s evolving pedagogical framework. The new pattern will apply to the 2025 CBSE exams. The board has confirmed that the exams will commence on February 15, 2025, and will be conducted in a single term. While the 2024 exams will follow this pattern, the board is preparing to implement a two-term exam model in 2025 to provide students with more frequent assessments.

The CBSE is expected to release the date sheet for the 2025 class 10 and 12 board exams in December. Students will be able to download the schedule from the official website once it is released.
