**Lucknow, India** – The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has finally released the results for the 2024 Constable recruitment examination. The results, available on the official website (uppbpb.gov.in), conclude a tumultuous recruitment process marred by a significant paper leak scandal.

Over 4.8 million candidates applied for 60,244 constable positions, making it the largest police recruitment drive in the state’s history. The written examination, originally scheduled for February 17th and 18th, was ultimately conducted on August 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th, and 31st, after being cancelled following allegations of widespread paper leaks. The initial exam dates were scrapped after reports of the question paper circulating online before the exam began. Following an FIR filed in Lucknow on February 23rd and an investigation by the UP Special Task Force (STF), several arrests were made.

The recruitment process, which began with applications opening on December 27th, 2023, and closing on January 6th, 2024, saw a significant delay due to the scandal. The UPPRPB released a provisional answer key earlier, followed by the final answer key and the results announced today. Candidates can now access their results via the official website. The breakdown of vacancies included 24,102 for the general category, 16,264 for OBC, 12,650 for SC, 6024 for EWS, and 1204 for ST.
