**Hyderabad, Telangana –** The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the notification for the December 2024 UGC NET exam, a crucial examination for aspiring academics in India. Online applications are now open from October 19th to December 10th, 11:50 PM.

The exam itself is scheduled for January 1st to 19th, 2025. Specific exam dates, center details, and admit card information will be available on the official NTA website a few days before the exam.

**Eligibility Criteria:**

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree from a recognized university. General category candidates require a minimum of 55% marks, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) need 50%.

* **Age Limit:** For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates must be under 31 years old. Reserved category candidates and women are eligible for a 5-year relaxation. There is no age limit for the Assistant Professor category.
* **Subject Qualification:** The chosen UGC NET subject must align with the applicant’s Master’s degree subject or a related field.
* **Final Year Students:** Final-year Master’s students can apply, but must have passed their degree before their results are announced.
* **PhD Holders:** Candidates with PhDs are also eligible.
* **International Applicants:** International candidates are welcome to apply, provided they hold a valid student visa for India.

* General, OBC, EWS: ₹600
* ST, SC, PwD, Transgender: ₹325
