**Ongole, November 20, 2024** – Over 10,000 students participated in a vibrant rally Wednesday in Ongole, marking the closing ceremony of the “Bangaru Balyam Balotsavam” (Golden Childhood Festival), a celebration of Child Rights Convention.

The rally, which commenced at Ravi Priya Mall and concluded at PVR Boys High School, was flagged off by Prakasam District Collector A. Thameem Ansaria and Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar.

Collector Ansaria emphasized the festival’s goal of ensuring a healthy and vibrant future for children, free from child marriages, child labour, and abuse. She highlighted the establishment of special committees at various levels to continuously monitor the situation and address these issues proactively. These committees hold monthly meetings to identify and assist children affected by child labour or child marriage. The Collector stressed a collaborative approach, involving public representatives, NGOs, and community leaders to achieve this goal.

Superintendent of Police Damodar cautioned students about the dangers of cybercrime, including fraudulent calls, messages, links, and OTP scams. He urged them to report any such incidents immediately to the police via the helpline number 1930. He also educated the female students on recognizing and avoiding instances of child sexual abuse.
