**JAMSHEDPUR, INDIA** – Voting concluded today in the second and final phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, with 38 constituencies across 12 districts participating. The Election Commission reported a voter turnout of 67.59% by 5 PM. Bokaro district recorded the highest turnout at 50.52%. While the final percentage is expected to be higher as some voters remained in queues at closing time, officials reported replacing 71 ballot units, 116 control units, and 191 VVPATs during the mock poll and a further 63 ballot units, 45 control units, and 186 VVPATs during the actual voting.
The Congress party announced it will not participate in any exit polls released following the conclusion of voting. Turnout in Jharkhand was reportedly higher than that recorded in Maharashtra, which is also currently holding elections.
