**Chennai, November 20, 2024** – A 38-year-old cameraperson was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Tambaram-Maduravoyal bypass road in Chennai on November 10th. A. Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Pondy Bazaar who also worked part-time for a transport aggregator, was struck by a speeding luxury car near the Maduravoyal junction while riding his two-wheeler.
The driver, identified as M. Murali of Ayanambakkam, allegedly fled the scene after the impact, which threw Pradeep Kumar over 100 meters. Police believe the car’s sensor malfunctioned in the accident, prompting Murali to abandon the vehicle and escape. The luxury car is owned by a businessman from Vellapanchavadi.
Koyambedu Traffic Investigation Wing Police recovered Pradeep Kumar’s body from the bushes on the service road and sent it to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem. An investigation is underway, and police are actively searching for the driver.
