Tue Nov 19 15:01:24 UTC 2024: ## Air India Flight Diverted, Passengers Bussed to Delhi After Pilot Refusal

**Jaipur, India –** Hundreds of passengers aboard Air India flight AI-2022 from Paris to Delhi faced significant delays and disruption on Monday after their flight was diverted to Jaipur due to poor visibility in Delhi and subsequently stranded. The pilots, citing the completion of their Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), refused to continue the flight to Delhi, leaving passengers, including a mother with a two-month-old baby, frustrated and stranded for hours.

The flight, which departed Paris on Sunday at 10 pm, was initially diverted to Jaipur due to heavy smog in Delhi, rendering the airport unsuitable for landings requiring low-visibility approaches. However, after landing in Jaipur, the pilots declined to continue the journey, triggering widespread anger among passengers.

Instead of arranging a replacement flight, Air India opted to transport the passengers to Delhi by bus, a decision that drew sharp criticism on social media. Passengers reported spending five hours on the aircraft in Jaipur before being transferred to buses.

“Shameful and pathetic management,” wrote one passenger, Vishal P., on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the distress of his wife and infant child. Other passengers echoed these sentiments, criticizing the airline’s handling of the situation, particularly its lack of support for vulnerable travelers.

While Air India has yet to release an official statement, sources within the airline stated that a replacement flight would have caused an even greater delay than the bus journey. However, passengers strongly disputed this, demanding immediate action and more humane treatment. The incident has once again raised concerns regarding airline management and passenger welfare in the face of unforeseen circumstances.
