**Mumbai/Ranchi/New Delhi:** Learning from its recent defeat in the Haryana Assembly elections, the Congress party is taking stringent measures to prevent a repeat in the upcoming Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections. The party has deployed approximately 30,000 polling agents across both states.

These agents, who have received specialized training to identify and prevent irregularities, will be stationed at polling booths to monitor Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), voter lists, and vote counting processes. Furthermore, Congress observers in both states are on high alert, instructed to maintain constant vigilance from voting commencement until the results are announced.

The Congress high command has devised a comprehensive strategy to tackle any contingency, anticipating close contests in both states. The party is particularly focused on preventing irregularities, citing the Haryana loss as a crucial learning experience.

Voting for the 288 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly is scheduled for tomorrow, while Jharkhand’s 38 seats will also go to the polls tomorrow. The elections will determine the fate of several prominent political figures, including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi.
