Tue Nov 19 14:40:00 UTC 2024: ## BJP Leader Denies Bribery Accusations After Hotel Clash in Virar
**VIRAR, MAHARASHTRA –** A political clash erupted at the Vivanta Hotel in Virar on November 19th, leading to accusations of vote-buying and the filing of multiple police complaints. The incident involved BJP national secretary Vinod Tawde and members of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA).
BVA workers alleged that Tawde and Rajan Naik were distributing money at the hotel. Following the allegations, BVA leaders, including MLA Hitendra Thakur and MLA Kshitij Thakur, arrived at the scene. Hitendra Thakur claimed that BJP members had informed him of Tawde’s alleged money distribution.
Three FIRs have been filed concerning the incident. One is against Tawde for holding a press conference, another for his presence outside his constituency, and a third against Hitendra Thakur for his involvement. Notably, no FIR has been filed regarding the alleged money distribution itself.
Tawde vehemently denied the bribery accusations, stating that the reports were false and challenged anyone to review the hotel’s CCTV footage. He explained his presence at the hotel as a post-election meeting with Rajan Naik.
When questioned about potential links to the Chief Minister’s race, Tawde stated, “Only nation, no Maharashtra,” emphasizing the unplanned nature of his visit and denying any conspiracy. The incident continues to generate political tension in the region.
