**New Delhi, November 13 (PTI):** National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna public sector undertaking, has announced a more than fivefold increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal year. The profit reached ₹1,045.97 crore, compared to ₹187.35 crore during the same period last year. The company attributed the significant rise to increased operational income.

NALCO’s consolidated operating revenue also saw a substantial increase, rising from ₹3,043.83 crore in Q2 of the previous fiscal year to ₹4,001.48 crore in the current quarter.

The company’s board of directors has approved an interim dividend of ₹4 per share for the current fiscal year. The central government currently holds 51.28 percent equity in NALCO.
