Tue Nov 19 12:27:24 UTC 2024: ## BJP MP Accuses Telangana CM of Land Grabbing, Authoritarian Tactics
**Hyderabad, November 19, 2024** – BJP MP Eatala Rajender today launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government, marking its one-year anniversary with accusations of land grabbing and authoritarian rule. Rajender claims Reddy’s administration has prioritized indiscriminate demolitions over development, creating widespread fear and unrest among the populace.
Addressing a press conference, Rajender accused Reddy of acting as a “real estate broker,” allegedly seizing farmers’ land at low prices for projects like the proposed “Fourth City” and River Musi rejuvenation. He highlighted the government’s alleged disregard for public opinion, citing ongoing protests against land acquisition in Lagacharla despite claims of a lack of opposition from the Collector. Rajender further alleged police brutality and the denial of access to the area for himself and fellow MP D.K. Aruna, prompting him to file a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission.
Rajender criticized the use of HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency) to conduct demolitions, claiming it’s being used to terrorize citizens by branding legitimate land ownership as illegal encroachment. He specifically accused the government of employing similar tactics in the Musi River project, allegedly aiming to seize prime real estate along the riverbanks. He stated that there are no encroachments near water bodies, only legally purchased plots.
Rajender concluded by stating that the government’s actions have alienated citizens and failed to deliver on its manifesto promises, leaving the people with only “sleepless nights.”
