**New Delhi:** The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has announced significant changes to the eligibility criteria and attempt limit for the JEE Advanced 2025 examination. IIT Kanpur released a notification detailing these revisions.
A key change is the reduction in the number of allowed attempts. While initially increased to three, the number of attempts has been reverted back to two. Students will only have two opportunities to take the JEE Advanced exam in 2025.
Furthermore, students who passed their 12th-grade board exams in 2023 will not be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025. This decision reverses an earlier allowance and aims to prevent the establishment of a precedent allowing multiple attempts indefinitely. The JAB advises all prospective candidates to carefully review the updated eligibility criteria before applying to avoid potential disqualification. Passing the JEE Main exam remains a prerequisite for appearing in JEE Advanced.
