**Hyderabad, November 19, 2024** – The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has launched an investigation into allegations of encroachments affecting parks and lakes in Ameenpur municipality. Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, following complaints from residents, visited several affected colonies.
The investigation centers on the expansion of Peddacheruvu lake, one of the largest in the municipality, which reportedly submerged nearby residential layouts. Mr. Ranganath announced a time-bound inquiry to verify the lake’s boundaries against official records.
Further investigations are underway into claims by residents of Padmavati Colony alleging that former MLA Katsani Rambhupal Reddy was involved in land encroachment. A detailed survey will be conducted to assess these allegations. Additionally, HYDRAA will take action if encroachment on a park in Venkata Ramana Colony is confirmed. The agency has pledged to address all complaints swiftly and decisively.
