Tue Nov 19 09:29:42 UTC 2024: ## BJP Leader Accused of Distributing ₹5 Crore in Virar; Sanjay Raut Weighs In
**Virar, Maharashtra –** A major political controversy erupted in Maharashtra following accusations against BJP national secretary Vinod Tawde. The Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) party alleges Tawde was caught distributing ₹5 crore in cash at a Virar hotel on Tuesday. Videos circulating online appear to show a confrontation between BVA activists and Tawde at the Vivant Hotel in Manoripada.
While Tawde denies the allegations, BVA activists claim they confronted him after witnessing the alleged cash distribution. Police intervened to control the situation. The incident has sparked a war of words between the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the opposition BJP.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut tweeted a video of the altercation, accusing the BJP of attempting to buy votes. Raut stated, “The BJP’s game is over! What the Election Commission should have done, Thakur [referring to a BVA leader] has done! The Election Commission checks our bags and here they are caught red-handed!” He further implied that this incident highlights a double standard in election oversight.
Congress state president Nana Patole has demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those involved. While the BJP has defended Tawde, the incident continues to fuel political tensions in the state. BVA leader Hitendra Thakur further claimed Tawde made 25 calls apologizing after the incident. The matter remains under investigation.
