**Hyderabad, November 18, 2024** – Telangana’s Roads and Buildings Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, today challenged Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and working president K.T. Rama Rao to publicly state their position on the Musi River rejuvenation project. Reddy accused the BRS leadership of remaining silent on the project’s importance to Nalgonda district residents, downstream from the river. He offered to persuade Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to drop the project if the BRS clearly opposes it.
Reddy further criticized Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar for allegedly politicizing the project, urging them to focus on national issues instead of local Hyderabad politics. He questioned Kishan Reddy’s oversight of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited and criticized Sanjay Kumar, the Minister of State for Home, for his alleged preoccupation with Hyderabad affairs instead of addressing the situation in Manipur.
The Minister also leveled serious allegations against the BRS, claiming the party harbors individuals accused of serious crimes. He cited the case of Suresh, an accused in the attack on Vikarabad district officials, who is also facing charges of sexual abuse and murder. Reddy asserted that K.T. Rama Rao’s acknowledgment of Suresh’s BRS affiliation demonstrates the party’s acceptance of such individuals. The press conference was held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.
