**BOSTON –** The MBTA announced a Red Line service disruption impacting travel between Harvard and Broadway stations, necessitating the use of shuttle buses through November 24th. The closure, implemented to facilitate track repairs and improvements as part of a larger 18-mile track upgrade project, began Sunday, November 17th.

Service between Harvard and Broadway is suspended entirely until November 24th, while service between Harvard and JFK/UMass will also be suspended on November 24th. Free shuttle buses will operate between Harvard and JFK/UMass, stopping at major stations along the route, but riders should note that Park Street and Downtown Crossing will not have direct shuttle service. Riders are advised to expect significantly longer travel times, with the MBTA estimating an additional 45 minutes for trips from Alewife to Downtown Crossing. Weekday shuttle service between Harvard and South Station will run every 15 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. To expedite travel, the MBTA is offering free rides on commuter rail lines connecting Porter Square/North Station and Braintree/South Station. Accessible vans will also be provided upon request at all affected stations.
