**Imphal, Manipur –** Violence in Manipur has intensified following the discovery of the bodies of three women and three children, leading to widespread protests and attacks on government officials. On Saturday, November 16th, the homes of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and ten other party MLAs were attacked and some were set ablaze by protestors.
In response to the escalating situation, Manipur Chief Secretary Viniet Joshi has ordered a temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services for two days in the affected districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, and Churachandpur. The move aims to curb further unrest and misinformation spread through digital platforms.
The discovery of the bodies and subsequent violence mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
