**Accra, Ghana -** Ghana’s Black Stars will face Niger in their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18th, 2024. The match holds no significance for Ghana, who have already been eliminated from the tournament for the first time in 21 years after a disappointing campaign. Currently bottom of Group F with only 3 points from 5 matches, Ghana’s failure to qualify is compounded by the withdrawal of key players Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, and Fatawu Issahaku due to injury.
While the game is inconsequential for Ghana, Niger still has a slim chance of qualification. Sitting third in the group with 4 points, a victory against Ghana coupled with a Sudan loss to Angola would see them advance to the AFCON. Angola leads the group with 13 points, having already secured their place in the tournament. Sudan currently sits on 7 points.
