**NEW DELHI** – The Directorate of Education, Delhi government, has released the admission schedule for private recognized schools for the 2025-26 academic year. The schedule applies to entry-level admissions (children under six years old) for open seats, excluding those reserved under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children With Special Needs (CWSN).
Key dates and the process are as follows:
* **November 25, 2024:** Schools must upload their specific admission criteria and corresponding points to the Directorate of Education’s module.
* **November 28, 2024:** The admission process officially begins, and application forms will be made available.
* **December 20, 2024:** Deadline for submitting applications to schools.
* **January 17, 2025:** Schools will release the first merit list and waiting list based on a points system.
* **January 18-27, 2025:** Parents can raise and resolve any queries regarding the points awarded by the school.
* **February 3, 2025:** A second list will be released, if necessary.
* **March 14, 2025:** The admission process officially concludes.
To ensure transparency, all schools are mandated to prominently display this schedule on their notice boards and websites. Schools are only permitted to charge a non-refundable registration fee of ₹25, and the purchase of school prospectuses is optional.
It is important to note that as per the RTE Act, 25% of seats are reserved for EWS, DG, and CWSN students. This schedule only covers the admission process for the remaining open seats.
