**Vemulawada, Telangana – November 18, 2024** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will distribute sanction letters on Wednesday, November 20th, to the families of 17 deceased Gulf migrant workers from Rajanna Sircilla district. Each family will receive an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh, totaling ₹85 lakh. The funds will be directly credited to their bank accounts.
This initiative, stemming from GO No. 205 issued on September 16th, 2024, fulfills a promise made in the Congress party’s 2023 election manifesto. According to B.M. Vinod Kumar, chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) NRI Cell, Telangana is the first state in India to provide such ex-gratia payments to the families of deceased Gulf migrant workers. The TPCC NRI Cell expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and other officials for implementing this “Gulf guarantee.” The distribution ceremony will take place at a public meeting in Vemulawada.
