**NEW DELHI** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has endorsed the new film *The Sabarmati Report*, which depicts the events leading up to the 2002 Godhra train burning incident. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi praised the film, stating, “It is good that this truth is coming out… A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”

The film, which opened to strong box office numbers (₹1.69 crore on its first day), focuses on the arson attack that killed 59 Hindu pilgrims near Godhra station in Gujarat. The incident sparked widespread riots, resulting in over 1,000 deaths. Modi, who was Gujarat’s Chief Minister at the time, has long faced criticism over the handling of the events.

*The Sabarmati Report*, starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra, and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, has been touted as presenting a version of events that counters previous narratives. The Prime Minister’s endorsement suggests his belief that the film presents a more accurate account.
