Mon Nov 18 15:44:34 UTC 2024: ## Mumbai Man Reports ₹63.9 Lakh Jewellery Theft on Train

**Mangaluru, November 18, 2024** – A Mumbai resident has reported the theft of ₹63.9 lakh worth of jewellery from his luggage on a train journey to Udupi. Avinash Krishna Saliyan, 40, filed a complaint with Manipal police stating that 900 grams of jewellery went missing from four unlocked suitcases while he and his family travelled in the S3 coach of the 12133 CST-Mangaluru Express on November 15th.

The family noticed the theft after arriving at Indrali Railway station near Udupi on November 16th. Mr. Saliyan believes the theft occurred between Panvel and Kankavali railway stations in Maharashtra.

Manipal police have registered a complaint under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and will transfer the case to Panvel police for further investigation.
