Mon Nov 18 04:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Against All Odds: K Jayaganesh’s Sixth Attempt Secures IAS Position
**NEW DELHI, INDIA – November 18, 2024** – K Jayaganesh’s journey to becoming an IAS officer is a testament to perseverance and unwavering determination. Hailing from a humble background where his father worked as a factory laborer and the family faced financial hardships, Jayaganesh dreamt of joining the Indian Administrative Service. Despite facing six consecutive failures in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, he refused to give up.
After completing his schooling in a village, Jayaganesh earned a diploma in polytechnic studies and a degree in mechanical engineering. Struggling to find stable employment, he took on various jobs, including working as a billing clerk in a cinema hall and a waiter in a hotel. These experiences underscored the realities of his financial situation, further fueling his ambition.
Recognizing the dedication required to crack the UPSC exam, Jayaganesh quit his job and devoted himself entirely to his studies. Even after receiving a job offer from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) following one of his unsuccessful attempts, he turned it down, believing he had one more chance to achieve his IAS dream. That decision proved life-altering.
This year, Jayaganesh finally succeeded, securing an All India Rank of 156 in the UPSC exam. His remarkable story serves as an inspiration to all aspiring civil servants, highlighting the importance of resilience and dedication in overcoming adversity.
