**New Delhi:** The Delhi Municipal Corporation’s (DMC) education department has launched a new initiative aimed at fostering social and ethical responsibility among students. Starting immediately, students in DMC schools will take a daily pledge during assembly, focusing on a different theme each day.
The program, designed to complement academic learning and promote holistic development, will cover a range of crucial topics. Mondays will feature the “Khelo India” pledge, encouraging participation in sports for a healthier India. Tuesdays will focus on national unity and integrity. Wednesdays will promote the boycott of single-use plastics, including polythene bags, plastic plates, cups, and bottles. Thursdays will emphasize cleanliness and community service, with students pledging to dedicate two hours per week to volunteer work. Finally, Fridays will center on the principle of “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
This initiative is part of a larger effort by the DMC to build a strong foundation of social awareness among students, enabling them to become responsible citizens. The daily pledges are expected to instill valuable values and encourage active participation in creating a better society.
